This product is amazing. I have used it for the last two years with my two small children and it works like a charm. Anytime you need a bathroom - and with kids, there isn't always one around or close enough once they tell you they have to go BADLY - this does the trick. I have used it on long car trips, at the mall, and most importantly... when we are in a long line at Disneyland or another theme park! It is so unobtrusive almost NOONE knows what we are doing. I kneel down, put the "deflated balloon" type strip out and down one side of their underwear, position the soft plastic opening and the kids let 'er rip! When they are done, it is easy to remove and usually there is a trash can very close by - if not I stick it in a zip lock bag until I find a trash can. Let me tell you, I swear by these things and couldn't do without them. I have a few in my backpack, in my car, and in my husband's car and after years of use, I've never had one problem. Thank you to whoever invented these clever things, you are wonderful!!!

I use the TravelJohn in a private plane. It's nice not to have to worry about drinking too much coffee before a flight. The product works as advertised. Be sure to throw them out promptly however as the gel can liquify a bit if left in a hot car / plane.

This is an awesome, completely portable and disposable product for those times when you HAVE to go and just don't have access to a sanitary bathroom. Even at a rest stop. This tiny little device is so small it could fit in a pocket or purse, or glove box, but it will expand when you need it to. It can hold 28 oz, which is plenty, and the gel forms instantly, so there's no spilling risk. Great for small bladders that can't wait for the next exit on road trips. And MUCH cleaner than carrying around a little portable potty or other similar container which often stinks and could easily spill.

4 years ago, my dad brought these over. He had purchased some for his employees (who were asked to stop watering the clients' flowers), and thought they would help in potty training my son. They worked so well that we are now hooked. When we go to the grandparents', or on any outing, I don't have to say "no, don't touch that", "wait until I put paper down" and all those other phrases used by moms who venture into the gas station bathroom. I purchased some of the TravelJohn Jr's last time, and they held even my DH's full load! Because the urine becomes a solid, we have used them multiple times in the same trip, adding value to the little things!
So, I have to say - Go ahead and order the 18 pack. Save a little on each one. You will LOVE them!

What our Interstate Highways lack are public rest stops that a handicapped person can enter with a care giver of the opposite sex. This can mean no travel stops are possible, unless one buys a van and portable toilet. Travel John is a great alternative, when there are no other alternatives. Works for either sex. Many of these products seem to be designed for campers, but they are great for those who no longer can safely use public rest rooms unassisted.
